That leaves the answer to this question largely up to you. Do you want a little income on the side? Then you can expect to find a small niche, put in a few hours a week on your marketing program, and get a small return on it. Do you want to replace your day job? Then you can expect to put in long hours reading, participating in online discussions, and figuring out how to be a success, then even more hours actually executing the strategy you researched.
Internet marketing, in any of its forms - whether you're talking about e-mail marketing, affiliate marketing, information products, pay-per-click advertising, or anything else - is not a shiny red button you push to get rich instantly. It's a job, and to be truly successful at it, you've got to be willing to put in the time. For those who are willing to work at it, there's reward waiting, though.
