How much money can you make?

Q: How much money can you make as an independent Internet marketer?

A: Metric buttloads. Yes, that is a technical term.

We know Internet marketers who hold their own conventions where they give away cars. We know a guy who makes hundreds of thousands of dollars a year from his home in Vermont doing nothing but typing up e-mails. The amount of money to be made by pushing products on the Internet is absurd.

You have to work at it, though. Please read that sentence again, because it's important and vastly overlooked. Like with most other things in life, you will get out of it what you put into it.

It's going to take time for you to learn about Internet marketing in general, and more time for you to find the niche you can work in and learn how to operate from it. The amount of information you're going to have to digest is immense. You're going to have to put in time implementing your strategies, monitoring them, and then changing them to keep them productive as the situation dictates.

Contrary to the image that, somewhat ironically, many Internet marketers try to convey, Internet marketing is not a magic, red button you push to get rich. If you're committed to it and are willing to put in the time needed for education, research, and implementation, there's money to be made. If you're just looking to get rich quick, though, someone's going to sell you some magic beans, take your money, and leave you with nothing.
