Do I need to be good with computers?
Q: Do I need to be good with computers to make money with Internet marketing at home? I know how to use Windows and Office and stuff. Is that enough?
A: A lot of people out there will tell you that you don't have to know anything to start making money today off of the Internet. Most of them are lying to you. Would you believe someone who told you that you didn't have to know anything about fixing cars to make money as a mechanic? Then why would you believe this?
Now, it's true that for most work-at-home Internet marketing programs, you can get started with a minimal of knowledge. Usually, the programs give you a step-by-step guide to let you implement their strategies with a minimum of knowledge. Those that don't do that conveniently offer you a service, usually for an extra fee, that take the required technical knowledge out of the equation and leave you with a web-based interface that makes all of your necessary pages.
The problem with either of those methods, though, is that what gets produced by those methods is never as good as what someone who actually knows their stuff can do. The webpages won't be as good, they won't be optimized for search engines, or, as in the case of the mass-produced services some offer, they'll be exactly the same thing everyone else is doing. No matter what the problem, though, the product is going to be lacking compared to the same strategy as employed by someone with technical expertise.
So while it certainly helps to have some Internet savvy when starting up an Internet-based home business, it isn't required. You can jump in blind, knowing almost nothing, and get by if you're using the right programs. You won't make money, mind you, at least nothing appreciable, but at the very least, you'll start getting the practical experience that you need to learn your craft and truly excel. The important thing is to never get discouraged. Remember: almost everyone fails in the beginning.
